Worship Service

10:00am

Time10:00am

Location3550 Afton Road, San Diego, CA 92123

DescriptionPacific Hope Church practices what is called "Expository Preaching." We practice expository preaching because the Scriptures require us to accurately handle the Word of God, because we are to teach all of God's Word, because teachers incur a stricter judgment, because expository preaching teaches people by example how to read, study, interpret, and apply the Bible to their lives, and because we see it modeled and commanded in the Word of God.

Please note: Childcare and Children's Ministry will not be available during church service. We will live stream Church Service into the Fellowship Hall for families that are training their younger children to sit through church.

We are located in the Serra Mesa area of San Diego off Aero Drive, near Montgomery Field.

Women of Hope - Let's Study Acts

7:00 pm

Time7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Location

DescriptionThis study meets every other Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

"The Acts of the Apostles is unique amoung the books of the New Testament. Of the four men who wrote an account of the ministry, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, only one--Luke---continued the story into the decades which followed. Without this book, we would be unable to explain how the still-frightened band of disciples. . . became the boldly expanding movement seen in the rest of the New Testament."

Home Fellowship Groups: The Transforming Power of the Gospel

6:30 PM

Time6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

LocationClairemont Group

DescriptionTransformation into the image of Jesus is much more than a change of outward conduct; rather, it is a deep penetrating work of the Holy Spirit in the very core of our being, what he Bible calls the heart—the center of our intellect, affections, and will. It is what is sometimes called “a change from the inside out.”
But though the transformation process is primarily the work of the Holy Spirit, it very much involves our earnest, active pursuit of that holiness without which no one will see the Lord. So, what is it that will engage our affections or desires to earnestly pursue transformation into the likeness of Jesus? What is it that will inspire us to want to do what we ought to do?
This is a major question that we’ll seek to answer in this book. Its answer is one of the key lessons I have learned in my own journey toward spiritual transformation.

Home Fellowship Groups: Let's Study Ephesians

6:30 PM

Time6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

LocationClairemont Group

DescriptionIf Romans is, humanly speaking, the most impressive of Paul's letters, then Ephesians is probably the most elegant. In its opening doxology, blessings cascade down upon the reader. In its closing verses, the smell of the battlefield lies hevily in the air and, through the smoke of war, we see Christians, fully clad in the armour of spiritual warefare, still standing. From beginning to end Ephesians sets before us the wonder of God's grace, the privilege of belonging to the church, and the pattern of life-transformation the gospel produces.

"In Let's Study Ephesians, Sinclair Ferguson skillfully leads us through this wonderful letter, explaining its teaching with masterful simplicity and showing its importance and relevance to the church today."

Men's Discipleship - Revelation: A Shorter Commentary

7:00 PM

Time7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

LocationChurch Fellowship Hall

DescriptionA shorter version of G.K.Beale's monumental volume on Revelation, this commentary retains Beale's exegetical depth and theological profundity, while actually "explaining Revelation rather than compounding its complexity."

As in the original commentary, Beale views Revelation as an integrated whole, as a conscious continuation of the Old Testament prophetic books, and shows that recognizing Revelation's nearly constant use of old Testament allusions is key to unlocking its meaning.
